Created a custom-painted sculpture for the Monica Parade, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Monica, one of Brazil’s most iconic comic book characters. The project involved transforming a 1.5-meter-tall (approximately 5-foot) fiberglass sculpture through an original artistic intervention inspired by my visual language and connection to Brazilian pop culture. Developed for an exhibition featuring 50 selected artists, the artwork reinterpreted the character while honoring her cultural significance and legacy. The piece was created using spray paint and Posca markers, combining street art influences with hand-drawn details and contemporary illustration techniques.
The invitation! It says: "Hey Ana, what about be part of the 50 artists that will be a part of Monica Parade? Hug! Mauricio"
the concept!
